I'm trying to make sense of my place in the world, i.e. where I'm walking and what shoes I'm wearing. What makes my world work for me and those I care about? What kinds of choices do I have from this point in my life?

Ask a Teenager about Control
My teenage daughter has certainly noticed that my emotions have been all over the map. Since she has lots of experience with roller coaster emotions, I asked her what she does to control her own behavior. Interesting answer. She tries to imagine how she would react to her own comments/behavior or whatever if someone else said or did whatever it might be. That's different than trying to figure out what others would think, which is pretty hard to do sometimes. I'll have to give that a try for awhile since it works well for her.
