Barak Obama looks like he may very well win the election next week. I've already voted by absentee ballot and thrown away all the election-related mail into the recycling bin. So many of us democrats are feeling hopeful about the future of the country. Granted, the next couple of years are going to be pretty tough, but I really do hope that we Americans can use our collective energy and creativity to improve our lives and the direction of the country. I hope it's not too late to bring people together in work that's bigger than any one of us. These last many years living under the repressive administration of George W. Bush have been so awful. I can hardly wait until he leaves the White House.
I've been so distracted with family concerns and political campaigns that I never seem to get anything done. I'm thinking about going on a really amazing trip next April to Cuba, but it's really expensive. For just me, for only a week, it will cost about $3000. I know lots of trips cost that much, but I could do a lot with that money. I'll be researching into whether or not I want to travel there. I would certainly love to go and it's not likely that I'd visit there another time. The tour will be very organized; it's a kind of mission trip; we'd bring medicines and supplies to the Jewish community there. go to such a different place.
Tomorrow is Halloween. Sarah is very excited about dressing up for school and for trick-or-treating. I'm getting excited too.
